I’m a 62-year-old widow who came to Cyprus in 2005 with my husband for a more relaxed and healthy life. I’ve been overweight all my life, having been a chubby baby and teenager. I was told it was puppy fat and I would grow out of it but I never did.
At age 11, they said I needed to go on a diet and I’ve been dieting ever since. I’ve never followed a recognised diet -I just tried to lose weight by watching what I ate. I always said I was happy but, deep down, I knew I needed to do something. When my husband died in April 2021, I initially lost some weight, but during the following winter, I gradually put it back on and more.
I saw adverts on TV for meal replacement plans and I thought, “That looks good, I’ll give it a go.” I saw an advert for The 1:1 Diet on Facebook and, following the links, I emailed my Consultant, Nina James, for more information. She arranged a meeting to discuss the Diet and I decided to give it a go.
Since losing weight, I have found that I smile more; I am happy to have my picture taken, rather than being behind the camera; I can walk up stairs without my knees hurting or having to stop halfway up.
I found the diet easy to stick to. I enjoy most of the products but I do particularly like the Oriental Chilli Soup, Spaghetti Bolognese and Chocolate & Orange Fusion Bar. The products being calorie counted and nutritionally-balanced helped, as did seeing my Consultant on a 1:1 basis because the idea of going into a room with other people to be weighed was one of the reasons I never joined any other weight loss program.
I have enjoyed the products and the whole weight loss journey, and I am a healthier person for it.
